Joel Bauer Speaks- the Gift-Shift

Joel Bauer Speaks on the Gift-Shift

If you get the feeling that I’m excited to be here, it’s because of something that is going on internally, inside of me. And, I have to share this with you because it’s very powerful. You see, I don’t worry anymore if I’m looking good, feeling good because I take good care of my body. If you are wondering where that child like presence, that child like curiosity is coming from, it’s because I have a gift for you. I know it is going to change the quality of your life. It’s called the “Gift-Shift” if you haven’t heard me talk about it. It changes your entire state of mind.

What if the next time you went to sell insurance or help another parent in raising their child, you had a gift for your client? What if you were so excited about engaging the audience- not in a superficial way, but you knew that inside you, you had information that was going to empower , inspire, transform, support, suspend disbelief, enable people to move forward, with greater precision that ever before. What if? What if, it would change the way you relate? It’s hard for people to look away when you are sincerely excited about something you have, something you’ve done, a story that will transform. A series of steps A-B-C, 1-2-3, that will enable them to do something that you know will help them. It’s the “Gift-Shift”.

You are no longer a salesman, a product pusher; you are a trusted advisor. You are advising someone from the position of experience in how to essentially handle something that they want to be able to handle, with greater elegance and class and dignity than ever before. The “Gift-Shift”. How you feel inside yourself. Do you value the information you have? Do you value the direction you are giving to someone else? Do you understand how it is going to transform the quality of their life? Will it transform it? I hope so.

In the Moment, For the Moment…
Think hard on the “Gift-Shift”.

Joel Bauer Speaks- Quality of Your Teachings

Joel Bauer Speaks on Quality of Your Teachings

I want to discuss something that is absolutely precious, the quality of your teachings.  The quality of your information. How much research did you do?  What is your life experience? Why should we be listening to you? What can you prove to us? What are your guarantees, your assurances, your insurances that it’s going to work? What stories do you have of people that have been touched by your guidance, your insights, your information, your metaphors, your analogies? Quality of information really determines whether or not you succeed.

Quality of information really comes from – what can you prove. Can you prove to me, right here in this long form sales letter, can you prove to me in this series of auto responder, e-electronic videos that are being sent out? Can you prove in this brochure or on this website that the zits will never come back, that the weight will never come back onto my body, that I will have a greater emotional relationship with my children?  These are the answers that people are looking for.

Quality of information has to do with the proof. Do you have testimonials that substantiate, that support, that prove that someone could relate to those people. They live vicariously through the words and actions of others.  And so, you need to have people raving about what it is you are talking about. That’s what enables you to prove what it is you are talking about actually works.

Quality of information, quality of support – can you prove it?  History, diagrams, pictures, video clips – actual life experience.

In the Moment, For the Moment…

Think hard on this one. Make it happen.

Joel Bauer Speaks- Being Congruent

Posted: October 1st, 2009 by Joel Bauer

Joel Bauer Speaks on being congruent.

Are you congruent with what it is you are teaching?

Imagine, if every person you came in contact with in life, raved about who you are and what you are about, radiated joy and passion when they talked about you, and when they related to you.  Is that possible?  It is! It has something to do with being congruent and passionate and having true expertise.

Do you really have life experience?  If I were to sit here and discuss with you, right now, how to get booked on a cruise ship as a communicator and a speaker and to cruise the Caribbean, to cruise in Mexico, to cruise all over the world for free as a speaker; I have true expertise.  Because at 13 ½ years old, I went to an interview with Carnival cruise lines; I spoke with Paul Wells, the head of operations there, and I worked  all those years for Carnival Cruise Lines.  I can talk to you passionately about my experience and what it is I said and what it is I heard and what it is I felt.  And how it is I connected with that audience on that ship and how I got the great reviews. That’s called speaking with expertise.

If I talk to you about Trade Shows. How to create the crowd, how to pull them in magnetically, how to convey the message; the companies message, your message, their message so perfectly, how to frame it with such specificity and clarity that everyone is hanging on every word, wanting to take every suggested action. And after creating and conveying the message, collecting leads, having people run their cards – these are things I can talk about with clarity- with Specificity.

You, should be speaking passionately about what it is you love based upon your life experience. That could be anything, skateboarding, badminton, tennis, martial arts, car repair, assembling computers, repairing computers anything that is your area of expertise; has a niche out there, a group, a list of followers that will follow you, invest in you and hang on your every word and suggestion. And, as you coach them, as you mentor them, as you empower them.

I ask you to speak from heart. Speak from passionate. And, using a word that a 17 year old tennis player, who is now #1.  On the back of her tennis shoes, she has a word there; BELIEVE.  You need to be passionate to get the audience to believe in the truth.  Tell only the truth.  Don’t make up a lot of stories. Don’t distort reality. Come from truth and you’ve got a real good shot. No, you have a path that leads to belief, trust and an engaging relationship.

In the Moment, For the Moment…

BELIEVE.

Joel Bauer Speaks- Needs of Many Outweigh Needs of One

Posted: September 28th, 2009 by Joel Bauer

Joel Bauer Speaks on Needs of Many Outweigh Needs of One.

Do the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one? I say “no”. I say every individual in your audience whether you are talking 1-on-1, 1-on-50, 1-on-500, 1-on-5000, on televisions, in an amp theater, rather you are communicating to your child – that one individual’s needs are vital. I believe that we can communicate to the needs of the many by identifying the needs of the one.

You can only really talk to one person at a time. As a professional speaker, communicator, presenter, positioner, framer, closer; I know a little bit about communication. I know a lot. I know how to frame ideas in a way that compels people. Motivates, as a catalyst to their taking immediate action. And the one thing that I’ve learned is that you must be in a feedback loop waiting for response. Never move faster than their ability; the audience’s ability to assimilate, to have the nutrition they’ve taken in and digest it. Allow them to digest the idea and to sit there and ponder just for a moment, for a split second. Enable them to stay connected to you in that feedback loop, that dance. Don’t talk at them, don’t talk through them, don’t talk around them. Speak with them.

It sounds kind of nuts; but, if you take your time, it’s going to make a massive difference. And, you’re going to have an emotional connection and people are going to invest in you. And, you are going to be able to give back massively, doing what you love.

So, Do the needs of many really outweigh the needs of one?

Joel Bauer Speaks- Reveal Yourself to Your Family

Posted: September 26th, 2009 by Joel Bauer

Joel Bauer Speaks on Revealing Yourself.

Are you willing to reveal yourself? Are you willing to let people know what’s inside of you? Are you willing to show them your imperfections, your pain? Are you willing to let them know you’re not perfect?

I would venture to say right now if I were to ask you a question (this is going to be a painful one), your answer would be less than positive. Does your family understand what it is you really do? I don’t think they’ve begun to understand the contribution you make – the contribution as a director, cameraman, producer, editor, school teacher, officer of the law, attorney, doctor… Do they understand you? Do they understand the difference you make in other people’s lives? I would venture to say not and isn’t that sad?

And isn’t it true that if people understood who you are, they would invest in you? If they understood you beliefs, your education, certification, designation…your beliefs- what motivates you to move forward, your passion? If people understood who you are and what you are about; they would invest in you, embrace you, they would want you in their life. You would become the only logical choice.

How do I know about these things? It took me 25 years. I figured out a system. In the 2-day Live Training, Passion 2 Profit, there is no confusion and no delusion. You know exactly what to do to make a difference at re-inventing yourself in this time of recession moving toward depression. It won’t matter what is happening around you, what you will have to offer will be compelling, engaging, interactive and transformational. It will change the quality of your life. A mentor takes you somewhere safely, builds your brand and enables you to move from passion to empower others. Money rolling in and freedom rolling out.

Now, reveal yourself to your family and friends. Share with them how you help others.

Joel Bauer Speaks- I’m Good Enough Right Now

Posted: September 26th, 2009 by Joel Bauer

Joel Bauer Speaks on I’m Good Enough, Right Now…

I remember a man, Peter Pitt, he died way too soon. I admired Peter’s passion and commitment to his craft.

I attended Peter’s last lecture not knowing Pete was about to die. It would be the last time Peter every spoke to a group. Peter had never been very nice to me; But I had respect for what Peter could do, what it was that he could deliver. I don’t need to love someone or embrace them as a friend to appreciate what I could learn from them that would transform my life.

As I handed Peter the money to buy his notes that day, Peter began to cry and I didn’t know why. This was not a man that had ever connected with me emotionally. He was a man that I found motivational and inspirational. A man who had developed a degree of excellence because he was superb as a performer, magician, comedian, negotiator, agent, producer – a very talented man. Peter put his arms out and I gave him a hug for the first time, having no idea that Peter was about to die.

Peter said to me, “You have no idea how much it means to me that you are here and that you are investing in what I have.” I didn’t understand that I had a profound impact on Peter’s life and that I was important to Peter. Peter had never articulated that to me. Sometimes we don’t understand the effect we have on others and we don’t necessarily need to know. We just need to understand that we’re good enough, for now.

I want you to know right now, that you are having as impact on people and when you communicate your area of expertise you are going to receive massive kudos, applause, appreciation and money. Please don’t do it for that reason. When I go home after a 2-day or 7-day event (Passion 2 Profit or Speaker Training), my kids and wife say “I love you”, that’s it – it reminds me I’m in the real world. When people look up at me like they are about to consume the kool-aid, I say please don’t do that. I say I’m sharing with you, in a compact period of time, the finest moments of my life. Things I know work. There are so many things I don’t do well, I’m happy to do this well. I’m glad you appreciate it; but, remember, I’m just like you – I just got to exhibit my best right here. I’m good enough.

So understand something right now; you can do this, you are extraordinary, you can move forward from a position of heart, passion, connect to the audience and integrity of those that want to make a change in their life. You can inspire and transcend normalcy. You don’t have to live in mediocrity. You can build your system and articulate it online or offline, automatically or speak live. You can get over your fears and move forward. You are good enough!

Joel Bauer Speaks- What is Your Passion?

Posted: September 23rd, 2009 by Joel Bauer

Joel Bauer Speaks on What is Your Passion. What drives you? What turns you on? When I was a child, it was magic. It turned me on, turned me up, and turned up the volume in my life. It was my passion. I remembered my passion for magic moved me forward. My mom had a passion and it was to leave her parents’ house. But her true passion was art.  The thing that drove her…her vehicle in life was art. It has led her into TV and the Entertainment Industry. What would you do for free? Find that something you’d do for free and that’s your starting point. My wife is a healer, a natural healer.  She inspires others.  She’s someone who likes to see people extend their lives, increase their energy, feel better. My son’s passion is skateboarding. My daughter’s is acting. My other daughter’s passion is to turn professional dancer. Your passion is important. Your passion can be turned into a system and begin monetizing. Your passion can be converted into a system…a business of speaking, framing, communicating, building a product that can be sold online or offline. It all starts with passion. What is it you’d do for free? What do you find yourself attracted to? Move toward that light. That’s where it all begins in building your system. Money will roll in and Freedom will roll out. It will make all the difference in your life. In the Moment, For the Moment… Joel

Joel Bauer Speaks- Perfectionist and Functionalist

Posted: September 18th, 2009 by Joel Bauer

Joel Bauer Speaks on being a Perfectionist vs a Functionalist.

Be a progressionist.  We always need to move forward.

My life moves forward, under 18construction, knowing I can always improve and fine tune. The world would not be very exciting to be perfect.   I can always listen to someone else, gain new skills to improve my process and become a greater expert in my area of passion- Inspire others and transform their life.

You don’t want to be a perfectionist.  Be a Progressionist, a Functionalist.  Get functional.  Write down a few things your want to do for each project and that’s it.  Don’t make it perfect.  How unnecessary.

Dan Kennedy says “Good enough.”…You’re good enough right now to identify your passion and expertise,  build a system, enable to help others benefit from that expertise.

You are good enough right now.  Take action. Move forward and be in control.  Make massive difference in you life.  Be independent, not co-dependent.
